This term is generally understood to include all forms of corrosion protection on steel-bodied cars to prevent corrosion damage: these include galvanising, dip coating, paint coatings, body cavity protection and in addition (also on cars with an aluminium body) undercoating on the floorpan and plastic wheel arch liners to minimise damage from sand and gravel.
