Dominance built upon genuine innovation. With 320 kW of power and 900 Nm of torque, the Audi SQ7 accelerates from 0 – 100km/h in just 4.9 seconds, with a limited top speed of 250km/h. The commanding all-new twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8 TDI engine has been developed from scratch to maintain the balance between performance and efficiency. Its 900 Nm of torque is available between 1,000 - 3,250 rpm. The SQ7 represents a momentous new benchmark. Full-sized SUV performance has never been more invigorating.
Power from a standstill: the electric-powered compressor
The twin turbochargers are supplemented by an innovative world first electrically powered compressor which can be powered immediately, eliminating the traditional need to build boost pressure by accumulating exhaust energy. The result is all-but instantaneous power delivery, even at lower speeds, producing peak acceleration with no appreciable delay.
The electrically powered compressor provides the engine with the boost pressure it requires to deliver maximum power to the wheels in less than 250 milliseconds.
Innovative: the 48-volt vehicle power supply
Innovative components require energy - the driving power of the electric-powered compressor, for example, is 7 kW at its peak. This energy is provided by a 48-volt vehicle power supply, which allows the use of the high-performance optional electromechanical dynamic ride control. For their high power and energy requirements, under the luggage compartment in the vehicle power supply is a separate 48-volt lithium-ion battery with 470 watt hours of nominal energy content and an output of up to 13 kilowatts.
Balance to the limits: stability and control
The optional electromechanical dynamic ride control ensures greater stability and agility, providing ideal balance and eliminating body roll even during spirited driving on winding roads. It also sharpens steering response, increasing engagement and allowing even sportier handling. Other systems increase dynamic agility even further: the newly designed eight-speed tiptronic transmission impresses with its high degree of efficiency and quick gear changes, while quattro all-wheel drive directs all 900 Nm of torque to the road.
Newly developed: eight-speed tiptronic transmission
The newly developed eight-speed tiptronic transmission changes gears with incredible speed and extreme efficiency. At highway speed, its delicate application of the SQ7’s 320 kW and 900 Nm even allows for coasting in neutral. The optional dynamic handling package supplements the remarkable athleticism of the Audi SQ7 with three technological modules: sports differential, electromechanical dynamic ride control and all-wheel steering.
